Adult ADHD can be both a blessing and a curse
ADHD is an equal opportunity challenge. If you know plumbers, mechanics, doctors, lawyers, teachers, artists, scientists, famous athletes or firefighters then you know someone who may have ADHD. Adult ADHD is more common than you might believe because adults are so successful in spite of their Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
What’s the difference between ADD and ADHD? There isn’t one. Some years back the powers that be in the field of psychiatry decided that everyone would be labeled ADHD, even if they weren’t hyperactive. ADD is just a holdover from earlier years.
No matter what you call it, adults with ADHD answer yes to many of these questions:
Does your workspace look like organized chaos?
Do you think faster than you can talk and others say you don’t stick to topic?
Are you a night owl?
Do you work better when you wait till the last minute to complete something with a deadline?
Are you easily bored?
Do you like doing high risk sports, hobbies and activities?
